Print from a Windows laptop
You can print documents on an OP printer from your Windows laptop. You will need to be connected to the ‘OP-Student’ wireless to enable the printing system.
Installing the printer
Connect to the OP Student wireless network.
Open ‘My Computer’ and in the bar along the top type \\fthpc03 as shown:
In the login dialogue box that appears, type opnet\<your username> and your password as shown:
You should now see a printer and a folder. Double-click on the ‘OP_PRINTING’ printer and follow the on-screen prompts.
When that has installed, double-click the folder called ‘Papercut Client’. Inside that you should see a file called ‘Papercut’, double-click that and follow the instructions on the installer, leave all options as default.
Enter your credentials in the Papercut login box as shown. Make sure the ‘Remember my identity’ check box is ticked. Click ok.
Printing your documents
You can now print your documents and pictures using the ‘OP_PRINTING’ print queue on your computer.
You will need to start the Papercut software in order to print. Click Start and start typing ‘Papercut’, the top result should read ‘Papercut MF Client’, press enter.
Windows 8 laptops
Hold down the Windows key and press 'Q', then type into the search box.
The print system is configured to ask for your credentials when you actually send a print job, if you choose ‘Until I logout’ then it will not ask you to authenticate again for the duration of your session.
