Change my network password off campus
Otago Polytechnic has a “password self-service” facility to allow students to reset their own OP network passwords.
This is a two-step process:
You must first “register” to be able to use it.
You can then change your forgotten password yourself by correctly answering your security questions.
Remember to register before you need to use it.
Before you reset your password
When syncing your OP Office365 email to a mobile device, remember that if you reset your Otago Polytechnic student user password, it will also affect any device you may be using to sync OP Office365 student emails.
If you forget,
your email will stop syncing immediately.
After 5 failed attempts at trying to connect your mobile device , your Otago Polytechnic student user account will be locked out as a security precaution.
Therefore, before resetting your password, check whether you have set up your mobile device to sync your email.
Once your password has been reset, you will need to go to your remote device, edit the mail settings, and update the password to your new password.
If you forget, you will need to contact the Student IT Service Desk to have your Otago Polytechnic student user account unlocked.
