Print from an Apple laptop
You can print documents on an OP printer from your Apple laptop. You will need to be connected to the Eduroam wireless network to enable the printing system.
Installing the printer
Connect to the Eduroam wireless network.
The downloaded file OP-Printing-Mac.dmg contains an installer package: OP Printing.pkg which is the printer, driver and Papercut client combined.
To install these, simply double click and follow the on-screen instructions.
Printing your documents
You can now print your documents and pictures using the ‘OP_PRINTING’ print queue on your computer.
Start the Papercut client software – there are two ways to do this:
1. Go to spotlight in the top right corner and start typing ‘PCClient’, it will auto complete as shown. Press Enter.
2. Open Finder and select ‘Applications’ in the sidebar, double-click on the ‘PCClient’ application.
When starting the Papercut client for the first time, it may prompt you to install Java as this is required for it to run. If this happens, follow the on-screen prompts to install it.
You may be asked for your credentials when logging in. Enter your network username and password, and tick the ‘Remember my identity’ checkbox:
The Papercut icon will be in the dock and balance window will show in the top right corner of your screen. There is more information about printing with Papercut on this page.
The print system is configured to ask for your credentials when you actually send a print job, if you choose ‘Until I logout’ then it will not ask you to authenticate again for the duration of your session.
When printing a document choose OP_PRINTING in the Printer section.
